I wrote this as I was walking home after visiting a friend for lunch. I sat down at Southbank, right in front of the London Eye, and the whole thing came out at once. Songs can be excellent like that sometimes.
lyrics
Fear is all it takes
To stop the light coming in
Seeing it all end
Before the first step begins
You can't change fate
You can't change time
But you can try to change your mind
If you could see what I can see
Then you would fall at your own feet
My Princess, my love
The world can't tell you enough
That you are strong
And you belong right here
My Princess, my love
Even if it came from above
You wouldn't know how much you light up this world
You don't know how much you light up the world
I don't always have
The words to say
But I'll keep on trying anyway
So if I stutter or fuck it up
Or if I'm gone, or too drunk
I wrote this song
To maybe help you along
My Princess, my love
The world can't tell you enough
That you are strong
And you belong right here
My Princess, my love
Even if it came from above
You wouldn't know how much you light up this world
You don't know how much you light up the world
But I'll try anyway
By loving you each day
And singing what I can
To help you understand
That your heart is so beautiful
Your heart is so beautiful
Your heart is so beautiful
Your heart
My Princess, my love
The world can't tell you enough
That you are strong
And you belong right here
My Princess, my love
Even if it came from above
You wouldn't know how much you light up this world
You don't know how much you light up the world
